When Grandson took over the Observatory North Park

The evening began with Ho99o9. The duo and their drummer launched into their set with a raw, unpredictable power. The drums hit hard, and the two frontmen moved and danced across the stage with kinetic abandon. Their atmosphere, both intense and energetic, immediately pulled the crowd into a collective surge of momentum. The crowd responded with enthusiasm, carried by that energy as soon as the first note rang out.
Then the stage fell into darkness as deep bass rumbled through the room, making the entire venue vibrate. Grandson stepped out with his band — Miles on drums, Amin on guitar, and Maxwell on bass — greeted by loud applause and cheers. This show marked the second-to-last US date of the INERTIA Tour, supporting the release of his third studio album, which dropped on September 5, 2025.

On stage, the energy matched the intensity in the crowd. A sense of rebellion filled the room. With charged lyrics, crashing guitars, throbbing bass, and heavy drums, the band quickly turned the room into a communal pit. The bassist and guitarist stepped into the crowd to play among the fans, dissolving any sense of distance and transforming the venue into a swirling mass of sound and movement.
The setlist drew from the new album: tracks like “Brainrot” and “Autonomous Delivery Robot” set the tone early with lyric-heavy intensity and high energy. Older songs like “Blood // Water” appeared as well, giving longtime fans the chance to sing along.

A rare moment of stillness arrived during “Heather,” when the tempo dropped and the lights softened, leaving only grandson and his guitar illuminated. The crowd held onto each other, swaying their arms with their phone lights raised. It created a striking contrast that amplified the impact of the louder moments that followed.

From start to finish, the atmosphere stayed elevated. The INERTIA Tour continues in Canada this December, and for my fellow Europeans, it kicks off in 2026. Go experience it, you really don’t want to miss it.
