Dexter and The Moonrocks bring their unique Western Space Grunge to the House of Blues with Girl Tones

The House of Blues was packed for a night that felt carefully aligned in both sound and style, as fans gathered with clear excitement to see Dexter and The Moonrocks alongside Girl Tones.From cowboy boots and hats to fully alternative and grunge looks, the crowd reflected the blend of genres that defined the evening and prepared them for the Donkey Flats Tour. There was a shared sense of anticipation in the room, with everyone ready to experience a show that promised high energy and amazing music from start to finish.

Girl Tones opened the night and immediately made their presence felt. Their stage presence was commanding, with constant movement and dancing while playing across the stage, all while maintaining strong interaction with the crowd. Their visual aesthetic stood out, with red and blue outfits creating a striking contrast that complemented their already established image. Musically, their alternative rock sound felt confident and distinctive, even as it continues to evolve. Their set made it clear that they are a band with a strong sense of direction and the potential to grow into something even bigger.

Dexter and The Moonrocks followed and delivered a performance that fully lived up to the anticipation. The crowd went on to instantly cheer, dance and through some organization even, crowd surfing and mosh pits broke out throughout the set. The band played a wide range of material, including fan favorites, unreleased songs and a cover of Green Day’s Basket Case. Songs like Messed Up Kid, Ritalin, Couch, She Likes Girls, Serotonin and Bleach received some of the loudest reactions of the night. The mix of alternative rock and country rock  presented by the band as Western Space Grunge felt unique and powerful, keeping the energy high from beginning to end.

With San Diego being one of the first stops on the tour, Dexter and The Moonrocks now head north and toward the East Coast over the coming months. The night made it clear that this tour is off to a strong start, and it will be exciting to see how it continues to unfold.
