Snail Mail Charms and Rocks the Observatory North Park with Armlock and Sharp Pins

On Saturday night, May 2, 2026, Snail Mail, the indie rock project led by Lindsey Jordan, songwriter and guitarist, brought her newest tour to The Observatory North Park in San Diego. She released her debut album under the name in 2018 and has been slowly growing ever since, now having released her third album this past March, titled Ricochet.

The first set of the night was indie rock duo Armlock, with Simon Lam on vocals and guitar and Hamish Mitchell on guitar and keyboard. They played songs from their debut album Seashell Angel Lucky Charm, and rocked the stage with the alternative experimental indie sound. The next opener of the night was Sharp Pins, a band from Chicago who brought an amazing 60s-70s inspired indie rock energy to the stage. Creator of the band and lead singer Kai Slater completely owns the stage with his energy and fire, jumping on the beats while playing guitar and throwing high kicks. His electric stage performance worked to transfer that high energy to the crowd as they buckled in for the main act of the night.

Snail Mail’s set had a gently lit white house with a picket fence sitting perfectly in front of it decorating the back half of the stage. The lighting was hazy and nostalgic as Lindsey Jordan took the stage with the opening track, Tractor Beam. This song is also the opening track on the most recent album. The set takes us through indie sounds that lean into grunge rock, and others that display a twang of country, like the song, Dead End. The visuals created a bright rainbow backlighting the stage, bringing color to the music and the radiant strings arrangements and levitating vocals. Jordan completely rocks the electric guitar while she’s singing, letting the music and the instrument lead her movements as she sways and jumps and spins across the stage. Jordan put on a fun and lush indie show, closing the night out with the song, Pristine, giving fans a memorable Saturday night.

Snail Mail’s US leg is over, and they’re bringing the band to Europe starting next month with their first stop in Amsterdam.
