SILVER BULLET Absolutely Rock The Music Box Alongside The 805, Virginia Crime, and Kocean

SILVER BULLET continues the revival of Rock N’ Roll on Wednesday night with sick guitar licks, powerful bass solos, and an electric stage presence. Hailing from the backyards of SDSU and coming off a scorchingly hot 2024, the band put together a talent-packed supporting lineup for their first show of 2025. With the help of other local SDSU bands, SILVER BULLET turned the 3-story Music Box into a place for all rock lovers to come together.

The 805 kick off the night with their chill and popish approach to alt-rock. They get the energy started with a couple of songs off their most recent EP, hey, i love you. Then, we have Virginia Crime turn up the heat with a louder and faster atmosphere that jolts the audience awake. Soon after, we get the “dirtpop” punk band Kocean who create a vibrant and enthusiastic transition into the headliner, SILVER BULLET.

With Hannah Geller on vocals, John Kelly on guitar, Avery Nelson on bass, and Ryan Simmons on drums, these four vigorously cross the lines of old-school rock, metal, and even grunge. SILVER BULLET always delivers a high-octane stage performance. Hannah captivates the crowd with the full range of her powerful voice. John Kelly hits his signature move of leaping off a crate and landing into the hardest guitar riff. Avery goes back-to-back with John and shakes the venue with the boldest bass solo you will see. And of course, Ryan takes his shirt off.

SILVER BULLET covered all their bases during their set. They show off their guitar-heavy singles like “JOYRIDE” and “WILDCARD” which command the crowd to go crazy. Shortly after, they begin to flex their rock roots by covering band favorite “Helter Skelter“. SILVER BULLET then returns to their originals and the entirety of their latest EP, THE EVIL COWBOY. Performing songs like the nostalgic bluesy “SWEET VIXEN” and the borderline metal “THE EVIL COWBOY“. As the band begins to wrap up, the crowd, still full of energy from the small mosh-pit, chant for an encore. Re-energized, SILVER BULLET ends on a fitting cover of “Bring It on Home” to end a show full of amazing music. The night was a true testament to Rock N’ Roll. Every performance proved to us that the next generation of Rock N’ Roll is in good hands.
