Sarah and the Sundays spark magic at The Voodoo Room with Beeson

On their 15th stop of their spring 2025 tour, the Austin, TX band Sarah and The Sundays captured the hearts and souls of everyone who attended their Voodoo Room show on April 26th. Sarah and The Sundays played with Beeson, an independent artist based out of Phoenix, AZ. The night was a prime example of the magic that should be behind a live show, with the crowd swaying and shouting; the music was the perfect soundtrack to a late-night party.

Ethereal and melodic, Beeson hypnotized with only a glance at her music. While her set was relatively short, a brief a six-songs, her simultaneously light and heavy vocals set the night off with a bang.

As the first officially sold-out show of the tour, Sarah and the Sundays didn’t disappoint. A band with true passion behind their music, love for the art seeped through every lyric, every chord struck, and drum beat. The 5 person trope seemed to act in sync with one another, an act of harmony almost unmatched. Heavy in their strength, the band truly made an impact with the audience. Together, they reached out to every soul in the room; in that moment, no one was alone, all were connected through relatable lyrics and a passion for the music. A one-in-a-million band that speaks to their crowd on a personal level, they seemed to understand perfectly the role they play as musicians and the joy they provide, “There is hope, the hope is within each other,” said Liam Yorgensen, vocalist and guitarist, during their set. Packed with couples and friends, lovers and enemies alike, the show was poetry packed into buttery smooth vocals, beautiful lyrics, soft guitar, and striking drums.

With almost two hours of playing time, Sarah and the Sundays played old and new hits, varying from upbeat and rowdy to slow and comforting. They started the night out with “Casanova” and ended with “The Cue” during a two-song encore. A diverse set, they played tried and true “Moving on” alongside “Ruby Fields” “Policy” and “I’m So Bored” among many others. Sarah and the Sundays will continue their tour to 15 more stops, including Vancouver, Portland, and Austin. With such a tremendous set, they’re a band any indie fan should consider catching live.
