Ty’s newest album Emotional Mugger has been shrouded in mystery! The record was sent to music journalists on a VHS tape accompanied by a press release in the form of an absurdist poem. Saturday, January 16 – Andy Rourke DJ set – The Hideout
Did you miss Andy Rourke, bassist for the Smiths, last time he DJed the Hideout? Even if you don’t like dancing, it’s worth coming out to see a legend! DJ Saul Q will spin some records and Jon Blaj of Kiss and Make Up will get the party started. More info.

Sunday, January 17 – Christian Death – Soda Bar
This deathrock band that started in 1979 has gone through many lineup changes and tumultuous life events. Last year in March, they announced a new album The Root of All Evilution. The Maension and Sleep Money will open with DJ Heather Hardcore DJing between sets. More info.

Sunday, January 17 – DeVotchKa – Belly Up Tavern
You might know them as the band that scored most of the Little Miss Sunshine soundtrack! Based out of Denver, Colorado, DeVotchKa plays a mix of gypsy rock and cabaret. More info.
