Bo Staloch transports the Voodoo Room to a Heartfelt Night with Emma Ogier

The House of Blues Voodoo Room in San Diego hosted Bo Staloch on Monday, October 27th. Known for its intimate yet lively vibe, the venue created the ideal setting for a night filled with heartfelt lyrics and raw emotion. As part of his current tour, Bo delivered a performance that felt both deeply personal and sonically captivating, balancing soft introspection with bursts of energy that drew the audience in from start to finish.

Opening the night was Emma Ogier, accompanied by her brother, who together delivered a gentle and heartfelt set that perfectly introduced the mood of the evening. Her warm voice and thoughtful songwriting captivated the crowd, creating a sense of calm before the intensity of Bo’s performance. The duo accomplished their goal of setting the tone for what was to come, leaving the crowd eager for the main show.

When Bo Staloch took the stage, the energy shifted immediately. His music carried a blend of passion and vulnerability, making each song feel like a glimpse into his inner world. One of the standout moments came when he performed Fault Line, pausing to thank the audience for allowing him the space to sing about his emotional baggage, describing it as a form of therapy for him. The crowd listened closely, fully absorbed in the honesty of the moment. His encore featured Oh God, Were You Ever? as a solo performance that highlighted his expressive voice and songwriting, followed by a final full-band song, Santa Fe, that closed the night on a high note.

Bo’s setlist was a mix of both his latest EP The Garden and older songs that showcased his evolving sound and emotional depth. Songs like Angelina, Springtime Red Tulips and Born To were some of the most acclaimed songs by the public. His connection with the audience was undeniable, and his ability to make an intimate venue feel both powerful and personal left a lasting impression. With more shows ahead on his tour, we wish Bo and Emma the best on the road, and hope to see them return to San Diego soon.
