Super Sometimes slams San Diego with a half hour of power at House of Blues supporting Harrison Gordon, The Callous Daoboys and Arms Length!

Super Sometimes returned to the House of Blues San Diego, delivering a half-hour of power music that was way too big for an opening band! Supporting headliner Arm’s Length alongside The Callous Daoboys and Harrison Gordon, Super Sometimes wasted no time working the hometown crowd into a frenzy.

In preparation for their new album, Show The World What’s Underneath, their sophomore release on Pure Noise Records, dropping May 15, 2026, songs like “Afterthought” and “Make Up Stories” provide a glimpse into an upcoming album that feels ready to propel the band into the future. While hitting us with the fan favorite “Spork” off their freshman release reinforced the sound their fans love.
From the first song, the crowd was all in. Both singer/guitarists Dylan Guzman and Gabriel Munoz encouraged the home town crowd to leave nothing left in the tank. There was nonstop movement in the pit. Wave after wave of crowd surfers kept venue security on their toes. A hometown crowd belting out lyrics that created an energy only the hometown pop-punkers could deliver. It’s clear that Super Sometimes knows exactly how to write a hook, and their set was full of them.
More than anything, this set felt like proof that the next wave of pop punk is already here. Super Sometimes isn’t trying to recreate the past — they’re taking the best parts of the genre and making it feel current again. If this show was any indication, they’re only getting started.
Next up was Harrison Gordon. Hailing from Illinois, the band brought with them that Midwest emo-punk sound that clearly resonated with the San Diego crowd. The audience matched the singer/guitarist Harrison Gordon’s lyrics to songs Spring Break, Loves, Kirby Down, and Snot. The catchy guitar riffs, driving drums, and thoughtful lyrics paired with a high-energy live performance make this a band to watch out for.
Once the Callous Daoboys took the stage, the night really exploded! Described as a mathcore band, the sound they brought was fierce. Vocalist Carson Pace brought with him a raw energy that only ignited the crowd! Waves of crowd surfers flooded the venue security staff. Intense mosh pits only encouraged the band to go harder. Their music is technical, which pieces together elements of metal, hardcore, and pop, incorporating a wide variety of instrumentation. On stage, and in front of a live audience, what it did was continue to fuel an already epic night!

The last performance of the evening was left to Arms Length from Ontario, Canada. Starting the night with their fan favorite “Funny Face”, the House of Blues in San Diego was filled with that familiar Midwest-emo sound. Poetic and thoughtful lyrics are backed by driving drum beats, melodic guitar leads, and bass lines that sit perfectly in the pocket. Arms Length stage show was non-stop energy until that moment in the set when singer/guitarist brought the crowd down with a passionate performance of their songs “Early Onset,” “Palinopsia,” and “Dirge.” It was a moment that gave their fans, old and new, an opportunity to connect. The energy picked right back up with “Fatal Flaw,” “Halley,” and “Morning Person.” Arms Length gave their fans everything they were hoping for and more!

The night was proof that the future of music is in great hands! You can catch all four bands on tour together through the end of May. If you are anywhere near a city they are in… go, you won’t be disappointed!
