The Raveonettes

Danish rockers, The Raveonettes brought their oozy melodic fuzz rock sounds to Music Box this past Saturday (1/27).

The noise pop vets concluded their RAVE-NOISE-OF-THE-MONTH project last month; culminating with the upcoming release of their Anti-Album ‘2016 Atomized’. The Raveonettes by now are pros in the live setting. Sharin Foo and Sune Rose Wagner can simultaneously create an atmospheric mood then crank the volume the next second with a razor sharp guitar solo. The career spanning set contained several cuts from 2014’s Pe’ahi, but mainly lifted tracks from the bands much beloved earlier albums Lust Lust Lust, Chain Gang of Love, and Whip It On. In the ‘ettes capable hands old faves like That Great Love Sound, and Bowels of the Beast can sit right next to the newer stuff and the casual fan would be surprised at the 10+ year difference between. ‘2016 Atomized’ is released Feb 17 with (hopefully) more tour dates TBD. The album can be pre-ordered at the bands Pledgemusic page.
