Electric Vibes and Unforgettable Connections: Mannequin Pussy
Ignites The Observatory North Park

Last Thursday night, The Observatory North Park came alive as Mannequin Pussy headlined a sold out show, supported by the Mexican opening act, Margaritas Podridas. The audience arrived early and packed the venue, already excited, eager to mosh to the sound of these raw-energy performers.

Margaritas Podridas from Hermosillo Mexico, kicked off the evening, engaging the audience with their distorted punk-infused sound. The trio delivered a high-octane performance filled with gritty riffs and powerful vocals, setting a striking tone that spoke to the audience. Their grunge and shoegaze infused melodies drew in the crowd, getting everyone warmed up and ready for more.

As soon as Mannequin Pussy took the stage, anticipation reached a fever pitch and the venue erupted in energy. The Philadelphia-based band wasted no time diving into their set, and the audience wasted no time starting a mosh pit. Midway through their set, singer Marisa Dabice paused to engage the crowd, asking how many were seeing them for the first time. A wave of hands shot up, filling the room with a sense of excitement and connection. It was an incredible moment, highlighting the band’s growing fanbase and the collective thrill of the night. Throughout the performance, the band’s ability to convey vulnerability amidst their hard-hitting sound created an even flow of energy, making the evening feel intense and powerful. The connection between them and the audience was undeniable, as attendees moshed and crowd surfed, all under the spell of the band’s impeccable command.

The night was a powerful testament to the impact of a strong female led band that exhudes energy and empowerment. From the energetic set of Margaritas Podridas to Mannequin Pussy’s impressive performance, the event celebrated female power, punk and connection.
