ListenSD is hosting a show with SWIMM, the Verigolds, the Gloomies and Pearl Charles this Saturday at the Music Box! If you can’t make it, there’s plenty of other concerts going on this week including Wolfmother, Yuck and Sunflower Bean.
Tuesday, March 22 – 91X’s Halloran presents Black Market III, The Shifty-Eyed Dogs, Rhythm and the Method – The Merrow
If you haven’t seen a show case by 91X’s Halloran yet you definitely should! It’s a great way to get to know the San Diego music scene. Halloran’s showcases always have variety–you’ll pretty much never see the same band twice. More info.
Wednesday, March 23 – Yuck – Soda Bar
Yuck is a noise rock band consisting of band mates Max Bloom, Mariko Doi, Jonny Rogoff and Ed Hayes. The group formed in London in 2009. Their third studio album Stranger Things came out last month. More info.
Wednesday, March 23 – Poliça & Clara Nova – Irenic
Poliça is a synth-pop group from Minnesota. They have a new album this year called United Crushers. The sweet sounds of Clara Nova will open the show. More info.
Wednesday, March 23 – Wolfmother – House of Blues
This hard rock band out of Sydney, Australia comes back from a brief hiatus with their newest release Victorious. Deap Vally will open this House of Blues show. More info.
Friday, March 25 – Sunflower Bean – Che Cafe
Sunflower Bean is made up of young musicians Jacob Faber, Julia Cumming and Nick Kivlen. Faber and Kivlen met at their New York City high school and bonded over heavy metal and punk bands before discovering indie rock. They met Cumming later creating the heavy indie sound of Sunflower Bean. More info.

It’s the Verigolds’ CD release party! Expect music from their San Diego peers the Gloomies, plus performances from SWIMM and Pearl Charles from Los Angeles. There also will be tons of art curated by Ty Velasquez. More info.
