Death From Above has been actively playing on and off since the early 2000s. They’re back, again, and this time have decided to drop the “1979” from their name. More info.

Dani Bell & the Tarantist, Edwin, The Morning Yells – Soda Bar
Local band Dani Bell & the Tarantist are known for the mysterious masks they wear onstage and Dani Bell’s breathy and ethereal vocals. More info.

Slaughter Beach, Dog; Walter Etc – Irenic Annex
Jake Ewald of Modern Baseball started Slaughter Beach, Dog to put out music he felt didn’t fit with his main band. His newest album is called Birdie. More info.

Thursday, November 16

DRÆMINGS, Mini Bear, Le Ra, Hexorcismos – Blonde Bar
If you love 80s goth and electronic music, you’ll love DRÆMINGS. They’ve released music on an intriguing label called PLAG Records which describe themselves as “A label run by women for women * + non-binary persons (*anyone identifying as a woman).” More info.

Ariel Pink, Gary Wilson and the Blind Dates – Belly Up Tavern
Multi-instrumentalist Ariel Pink is often credited with inspiring the chillwave genre. He has put out 11 avant-garde pop records including his most recent, Dedicated to Bobby Jameson. More info.

Mild High Club, Jerry Paper – The Irenic
If you haven’t bought tickets yet, then you’re out of luck–this one is sold out! It’s easy to see why: Mild High Club’s catchy psych-pop will easily make a fan out of anyone. More info.

Daley, Tiffany Gouche, Mimi Zulu – Music Box San Diego
Singer-songwriter Daley’s big break was when he co-wrote the Gorillaz’s 2010 single “Doncamatic.” He’s now putting out his own music like 2017’s The Spectrum. More info.
