Happy New Year! Start 2016 off right with some local music from the Gloomies, pop-punk and bunny masks with Nobunny and a stadium show featuring Muse and Phantogram.

Monday, January 4 – The Gloomies, THE WHISKEY CIRCLE, Ditches – Soda Bar
Up and coming locals, the Gloomies start their FREE Monday night residency at the Soda Bar! This pysch-pop band was recently named NME’s “buzz band of the week.” Also, ListenSD’s very own Rachel Frank will DJing between sets! More info.

Thursday, January 7 – Muse, Phantogram – Valley View Casino Center
Muse had to reschedule their San Diego show from December to January and we’re glad they’re finally here! Muse plays a fusion of prog rock and electronica and puts on a big production show. More info.

Saturday, January 9 – Rebecca Jade and the Cold Fact
The Midnight Pine, Birdy Bardot, and Dani Bell & The Tarantist – Casbah

It’s the Redwoods Revue, an event part of the Casbah anniversary series. All these local bands are on Redwoods Music, a San Diego based record label. More info.

Sunday, January 10 – Nobunny – Soda Bar
Nobunny out of Oakland, California plays catchy lo-fi pop-punk. Always dressed in a slightly psychotic looking bunny mask and very little clothing, frontman Justin Champlin puts on an amazing high energy show. More info.

Sunday, January 10 – The Game – Observatory North Park
This LA based rapper and actor is a notable part of the West Coast hip hop scene and is one of Dr. Dre’s protégés. The Game struck out on his own after leaving G-Unit in 2006. The Documentary 2 is his newest and sixth studio album. More info.
