Did you hear a thunderous roar coming from Chula Vista last week? It was merely the singing, screaming, and cheering from all of the fans as Imagine Dragons blew up Mattress Firm Amphitheater last week.
The Las Vegas band has come a long, long way in such a short time. They were playing UCSD’s The Loft, a venue that holds no more than 200 people, just six years ago. And now look at them, nearly selling out Mattress Firm which can hold up to 20,000. It really is no small wonder. Their fans could easily tell you why they have risen to the top so quickly.
It is the band’s genuine attention to their fans and to their craft. Dan Reynolds’ smile, it spread from ear to ear, is incredibly genuine and contagious. The band is genuinely happy to be on stage playing for their fans. The banter between Reynolds and the crowd was lighthearted and good natured. He reached out to high five his fans pressed up against the stage, a physical connection that most certainly meant the world to those that had been in line since the early morning hours.
Fave songs of the night were “Demons,” “Radioactive,” “Rise Up,” and “Start Over,” where tiny balloons and confetti shot out for the crowd.
The band continues their tour across the US before ending in mid November in Anaheim. Don’t miss this dynamic band!
With a giant burst of energy, Grouplove took the stage to thunderous cheer. The young fans standing in the general admission pit testified by screaming, “They are a super good band!”
