Frankie and the Witch Fingers embrujó al Foro Indie Rocks! con Carrion Kids
Frankie and the Witch Fingers visitó por primera vez la CDMX en 2021 gracias al volumen 2 del Monkeybee Festival. Desde entonces formaron una amistad con la banda local Carrion Kids por lo que los punks de sonido visceral fueron el acto invitado en su primer headline show en la ciudad. Con nuevo álbum bajo el brazo titulado Conducta Alarmante, los Carrion Kids demostraron lo crudo e impredecibles que pueden ser, una de sus integrantes, Poser Bambi, aprovechó la ocasión para hacerse un tatuaje en el brazo a media canción.
El caos se desató desde los primeros acordes de FATWF, un foro Indie Rocks! repleto coreaba la guitarra de “Empire” y el mosh pit no se hizo esperar, tampoco el olor a mariguana. El psych punk de los originarios de Los Ángeles se volvió un consentido dentro del público Hipnosis, festival donde se presentaron en 2024 y que fue su carta de presentación para el nicho psicodélico en México.
Las luces resaltaban el verde neón de algunos cables y el cabello de la bajista Nikki Pickle, mientras cada uno en el quinteto tocaba de manera frenética su respectivo instrumento. Al grito de “Paquito! Paquito!” (diminutivo de Franciso – Frankie) el público demostró su amor a la mexicana para la banda, por lo que se rebautizaron como “Francisco y los dedos de bruja”
El slam no dio tregua durante una hora y cuarto así que Dylan (vocalista y guitarrista) aprovechó el crowdsurf para escalar a uno de los balcones del foro, desde donde pidió a todos acercarse, sin miedo al éxito se lanzó hacia el público para un cierre memorable. La banda se retiró del escenario pero los ánimos no bajaron. “¡Otra, otra!”, el público pidió más por un rato hasta que aceptó que el fin de la noche había llegado. Este fue apenas el segundo show de un pequeño tour por México planeado para marzo de 2026 que tuvo que ser pospuesto, una presentación así merecía hacerse realidad.

Frankie and the Witch Fingers first visited Mexico City in 2021 as part of Monkeybee Festival Vol.2. Since then, they’ve formed a friendship with the local band Carrion Kids, therefore the visceral-sounding punks were the support act at Frankie’s first headline show in the city. With a new album under their belt titled Conducta Alarmante, Carrion Kids showed just how raw and unpredictable they can be; one of their members, Poser Bambi, took the opportunity to get a tattoo on her arm halfway through a song.
Chaos broke out from the very first chords of FATWF; a packed Foro Indie Rocks! sang along to the guitar riff of “Empire,” and the mosh pit didn’t take long to form—nor did the smell of marijuana. The Los Angeles-based band’s psych-punk sound became a fan favorite at Hipnosis, a festival where they performed in 2024 and which served as their introduction to Mexico’s psychedelic scene.
The lights highlighted the neon green of some cables and bassist Nikki Pickle’s hair, while each member of the quintet frantically played their respective instrument. Chanting “Paquito! Paquito!” (a nickname for Francisco—Frankie), the audience showed their love for the band, Mexican style, prompting them to rename themselves “Francisco y los dedos de bruja.”
The mosh pit didn’t let up for roughly 75 minutes, so Dylan (lead singer and guitarist) took advantage of the crowd surfing to climb up to one of the venue’s balconies, from where he asked everyone to come closer; fearlessly, he threw himself into the crowd for a memorable finale. The band left the stage, but the energy didn’t wane. “Otra, otra!” the audience demanded more and kept chanting for a while until they accepted that the night had come to an end. This was just the second show of a short Mexican tour originally planned for March 2026 that had to be postponed—a performance like this truly deserved to happen.
