Scanning this year’s roster, it reads like an archive of some of our absolute favorite live sets covered at ListenSD all year long. Seeing these artists again in front of Mexico City’s famously vocal, passionate crowds is going to hit on an entirely different level.
The Strokes: Having just caught them headlining Just Like Heaven at the Rose Bowl, we can confirm Julian Casablancas and company are in peak form. There are few crowds on Earth that scream guitar riffs back at a band louder than Mexico City, and watching The Strokes tear through their catalog in CDMX will be absolute pandemonium in the best possible way.
Gorillaz: After we caught Damon Albarn leading a jaw-dropping ensemble through The Mountain at the Hollywood Palladium this past February, and then tracked their massive festival sets across Europe at both Primavera Sound Barcelona and Primavera Sound Porto in June, we can say firsthand that this live era of Gorillaz is operating on pure firepower. Bringing that massive audiovisual spectacle to the Autódromo in CDMX is bound to be one of the festival’s most explosive moments.
Pierce the Veil: As a San Diego publication, watching our hometown post-hardcore heroes evolve from backyard punk roots into an international juggernaut has been a massive point of pride. Fresh off an emotional, sold-out hometown celebration at Petco Park, seeing them bring that relentless San Diego energy to an open-air sea of thousands in Mexico City will be an absolute highlight of the weekend.
The xx: Catching their understated brilliance earlier this year at both Kilby Block Party and Primavera Sound Barcelona proved just how timeless their catalog remains. With their signature minimalism and intimate nocturnal grooves, their return as a unit to a massive festival setting in CDMX is easily one of the most anticipated moments of the entire weekend.
Fcukers & Ninajirachi: The underground electronic curation this year is impeccably sharp. We’ve had the pleasure of catching NYC club upstarts Fcukers multiple times—most memorably when they blew the roof off the arena opening for Tame Impala—and while we’re gearing up to catch them again at Portola, their raw, 90s-tinged breakbeats are going to send CDMX into absolute chaos. Alongside them, Australian electronic prodigy Ninajirachi—whom we were fortunate enough to catch tearing up stages at both Primavera Sound Barcelona and Primavera Sound Porto—brings hyper-kinetic, future-facing club anthems that will keep the dance tent vibrating.
Model/Actriz & Underworld: After Model/Actriz completely flattened our senses closing down their stage at Primavera Sound Porto—handily securing the title of my absolute favorite set of that day with Cole Haden’s unhinged post-punk intensity—having them on the same bill as legendary UK electronic titans Underworld guarantees that the energy across the festival grounds will stay dialed all the way up.

For this year, festival organizers have pushed the footprint far beyond just stage production. Corona Capital is certified ISO 20121 for sustainable event management, reinforcing its commitment to the environment and accessibility with dedicated, inclusive spaces for attendees with disabilities.
On the cultural front, the grounds celebrate Mexico’s design scene by spotlighting regional artisan communities alongside international graphic art. Print collectors and gig poster enthusiasts can look forward to the return of Flatstock, the renowned international exhibition where influential gig poster artists gather to display and sell limited-edition, screen-printed tour art.
