Destroy Boys leaves Audience Hypnotized at Soma Sidestage with Farmers Wife and Deux Visages

Stopping at Soma for their 2025 west coast tour, Destroy Boys sold out the Soma Sidestage with Farmers Wife and Deux Visages, on Saturday, March 29th. An intimate, powerful show, Destroy Boys gave punk a new meaning with their compelling lyrics and passionate sound.

Opening the night was Deux Visages, an independent alternative rock band based in Miami, Florida. Their romantic and dreamy vocals, combined with a strong rebellious backing sound, make them an incredible listen for any rock fan. Farmer’s Wife followed suit, an energetic and mystical central Texas band that sings moody rebellion from the status quo. With their new single “Seethe” and other memorable songs like “Bleeder” and “Boheme,” Farmer’s Wife is distinctive and promising in their talent.

Playing for an incredible hour and a half, Destroy Boys took the stage and never let it go. The room was static with energy, from both the crowd and the band. Destroy Boys has a genuine connection to their audience, and it shows in every move. Between Alexia (vocals) and Violet (vocals and guitar), they make an effort to see every guest in the room. Alexia sat on the edge of the stage to sing directly to the crowd during “Amor Divino;” they even had an intimate solo during the start of the encore. The night was transcendent and Destroy Boys are a must-see for any fan of punk, young or old. The whole night, the crowd screamed along with every lyric sung; full of energy and love for Destroy Boys, their fans reflect just how universally relatable and moving their music can be.

The set list was full of hits, with classic bangers like “Muzzle,” “Shadow(I’m Breaking Down),” and “I Threw Glass at my Friend Eyes and Now I’m on Probation,” alongside newer hits including “Plucked,” “Boyfeel,” and “Beg for the Torture,” their set was astoundingly remarkable. The band even incited a girl’s and nonbinary-only mosh pit during “You Hear Yes,” a gesture reminiscent of Kathleen Hannah’s “girls to the front” tradition. Destroy Boys will continue their tour with Minds Eye and Deux Visages. They’ll be moving on to Los Angeles, Pomona, Berkeley, and Santa Cruz.
