Dani Bell & the Tarantist, Edwin, and The Morning Yells packed Soda Bar with Indie Rock fans on Tuesday, November 15th.
The first band, The Morning Yells, kicked-off the cool night with rock that reaches back to its classical roots. After their set finished, people began to drink and talk as Edwin prepared to jump on the stage. The clean, electric guitars began to sound check and the crowd settled in silence. Once Edwin was ready, the melancholic yet hopeful music echoed throughout Soda Bar.
The music of Edwin was carried out by reverberated guitars, a funky bass, a steady drum beat, and an electric piano that delivered traditional tones. As the show went on, Jake, one of the singers, introduced their new EP, “You Have No Idea” and played the second track “Let’s Both Agree.” Edwin came to an end and the people applauded their vintage rock vibes. Before the band got off the stage, they gave a shoutout to Dani Bell & the Tarantist since they were headlining.
Dani Bell & the Tarantist hopped on stage with Venetian masks, three 80’s boomboxes, and a bundle of shakers and tambourines. The two artists opted out of a full band in order to be the focus of the show. Music was then coming from the boomboxes and the Tarantist complimented the sound with his makeshift percussions and a saw blade cymbal. Dani Bell, on the other hand, was dancing across the stage as she sang “Crave” from their album “Dark West.” Her soft voice, blended with rock and pop elements, had the crowed swaying from side to side. In the end, they performed some new tracks of their upcoming album “Wide Eyed,” due for an early 2018 release. Altogether, the people at Soda Bar appreciated a Tuesday night of Indie Rock.
