Gallagher Square was a Literal Fever Dream with Cypress Hill

Honestly, we didn’t even know if we were gonna make it through the night. The lineup for this was actually disrespectful—like, how are you gonna put that many heavy hitters in one spot right next to Petco Park? The vibes of being in an open-air park with the San Diego skyline right there while the bass is rattling your chest is just different.

Before the big names even hit, we got there early to catch the openers and they actually set the bar high. UnconventionalKingz  kicked things off and they had the energy moving right away. Then Coyote For Hire  came out and honestly, they lived up to the name—they were explosive. Usually, people are just chilling during the first few sets, but these guys had everyone on their feet and ready for what was coming. Mad respect to them for holding it down before the legends took over.

Tech N9ne Went Nuclear

First off, Tech N9ne is not a real person. We’ve seen fast rappers, but this dude is a literal cheat code. He was hitting these double-time flows that didn’t even seem possible, and the crowd was just trying to keep up without falling over. He had the energy at a 10 before the sun was even fully down. If you weren’t hyped during his set, you probably didn’t have a pulse.

The Bone Thugs “Hometown” Feel

Then Bone Thugs-N-Harmony stepped up. We actually caught their sold-out show at the Observatory North Park not too long ago, and that was insane, but seeing them outside at Gallagher was a whole different beast. It went from high-speed chaos to that classic, smooth 90s flow. When they played Tha Crossroads, looking up at the buildings and seeing everyone’s phones in the air felt like a movie. They still sound exactly like the records, and having them back in SD felt like a victory lap.

Cypress Hill: The Legends

But let’s be real—we were there for the GOATs. Seeing Cypress Hill live has literally been a dream of ours since our parents used to listen to them, and they did not miss. By the time they hit the stage, the fog over the crowd was so thick you could barely see the stage, but you could definitely feel it.

B-Real and Sen Dog are just built different. They didn’t need a bunch of flashy stuff—they just stood there and commanded the entire park. When Insane in the Brain dropped, the pit was a literal war zone, but in the best way possible. The bass was hitting so hard we could feel it in our teeth. It wasn’t just a concert; it was an absolute experience to see these legends finally checking a box on our bucket list.

If you weren’t at Gallagher Square on Saturday, you straight-up missed the best night of the year. Shoutout to Tech N9ne, Bone Thugs, and the absolute kings Cypress Hill. San Diego, we really did that.

Stay hydrated, fam.
