Yungblud and The Warning Turn The Rady Shell Into a High-Voltage Community

Diehard fans spent the night on the concrete pavement twenty-four hours before Yungblud’s performance just to claim a few inches of space at the barricade. This highly anticipated LiveNation presentation sold out immediately upon release, leaving The Rady Shell packed to the brim with a crowd that practically vibrated with anticipation long before the venue opened its gates on May 20th.

The Warning Sparks the Night

Monterreyโ€™s power-trio powerhouse, The Warning, kicked off the evening. The three Villarreal sisters have commanded stages since their teenage years, and their performance dynamic shows that seasoned precision. They do not just play a set; they aggressively seize the venue.

A significant portion of the early crowd arrived already wearing the band’s merchandise, and the audience returned the band’s fierce sonic energy with massive waves of adoration. Seeing these incredibly talented women receive such a roaring reception on a major outdoor stage provided an early, undeniable highlight to the night.

Yungbludโ€™s Kinetic Connection

Then Dominic Harrison took the stage, operating at a level of pure, unadulterated energy that few modern frontmen can match. Rather than relying on a static backdrop, the production projected real-time video of the audience behind him throughout the entire set. This visual choice transformed the stage into a literal mirror of the pit, fueling a continuous, high-octane feedback loop between the performer and the crowd.

Harrison stripped away the traditional barrier between rock star and fan at every opportunity. He routinely ran down to the front row to throw his arms around fans, paused the music to shout out specific t-shirts in the crowd, and eventually brought a fan up from the pit to help him perform “Fleabag.”
The emotional anchor of the evening arrived via a heavy, poignant tribute to Ozzy Osbourne. Backed by stark, evocative visuals of shifting birds and deep shadows, Harrison launched into a roaring cover of “Changes.” The raw affection for Ozzy cut through the night air, turning the massive outdoor amphitheater into something deeply intimate.
Exiting into the cool San Diego night, the energy from the crowd still hadn’t fully dissipated. It was a sharp, fiercely executed night that proved exactly why those fans camped out on the sidewalk twenty-four hours prior.
