Check out Carlsbad band Inspired and The Sleep‘s brand new music video for their track “Sink”, where French director, Maximilien Franco, collaborated with Bandits Production to make a video around the concept of human correlation to time.
He utilized the concept of “Cinemagraph”, mixing still and moving images to give an impression of frozen time in which the main character evolves amid a bar scene. Time rights itself upon their union, concluding in an artful and enjoyable video.
Inspired and the Sleep began as a solo project for songwriter Max Greenhalgh and has since evolved into a revolving collaboration. Focusing on rhythm and melody, Greenhalgh’s loop-based ideas are reworked through collaborative effort into full-band, groove-based pop tunes.
The Inspired and the Sleep name was originally kindled by the dissonant nature of insomnia, “Inspired” being the exciting, creative experience nurtured by late night anxieties, and the “Sleep” representing the stagnant aftermath of a disrupted balance. Focused on continuous reinvention, the San Diego band is moving towards a refined approach to constructing tunes with enhanced production while hinting towards Greenhalgh’s previous lo-fi ponderings.
“Sink” comes off the EP Coming up for Air and is available for a free download on Bandcamp.
Check them out live this Thursday February 19th at Soda Bar with Grizzly Business and Buddy Banter. Click here for more information.
