P!NK got the party started for a good cause at Petco Park

Pop star P!NK headlined this year’s annual Curebound Concert for Cures at Petco Park on May 15th, 2026.  The sold-out show, which drew over 27,000 attendees was another resounding success this year, raising millions of dollars for a very important cause. Designed as a benefit concert to raise much-needed funds for adult and pediatric cancer research in the San Diego region, the show has quickly become an annual tradition and a chance to see some of the world’s biggest stars perform right here in San Diego.  P!NK’s show was a beautiful technicolor dream featuring large neon inflatable figures, fireworks, and many of her signature concert aerial acrobatics.  As she said on stage, this special show was part of a small series of charity events, effectively closing out her Summer Carnival tour, which she has presented worldwide since 2023.  As of March 2026 that tour was the third highest-grossing concert tour by a woman in history, and watching this San Diego spectacle it’s easy to see why.

Curebound CEO Robin Toft, herself a cancer survivor, started this show with a moving speech and video package highlighting the 1 in 2 cancer diagnosis facing everyone in our society, and the importance of her organization’s impressive work.  After this moving and heartfelt introduction, she asked everyone in the large stadium who was affected by cancer, or knew someone who was, to hold up their phones (as nearly everyone in the audience did).  P!NK then began her concert with an intro montage, moving slowly through the expansive crowd on the outfield at Petco Park to meet, hug, kiss, and take selfies with many of the cancer patients and their families in attendance.  It was such a moving moment, and the tears streaming down the faces of the children and families standing there were beautiful to see.  They were so happy to be acknowledged, and have a small moment that meant so much to them.  After her long journey through the audience, P!NK then quite literally got the party started with one of her biggest hits, “Get the Party Started.”  Her amazingly talented band was on point, the lights and sound were amazing, and this concert quickly turned from a serious mood to a full-on dance party.

P!NK’s eighteen-song setlist included many of her hits and most well-known songs including “Just Give Me a Reason,” “Raise Your Glass,” “Just Like a Pill,” and “Who Knew.”  She also played some really fun covers including a beautiful rendition of Bob Dylan’s “Make You Feel My Love,” which she played on piano, a rousing cover of Pat Benatar’s “Just Like Fire / Heartbreaker,” and one of the most fun parts of the night: a huge crowd singalong to the 4 Non Blondes’ “What’s Up?” which somehow every single person at the huge Petco Park knew the lyrics to despite their age, gender, or any other demographic.

For her closing signature song “So What,” P!NK strapped into an aerial harness, attached to some guide wires dangling from the sky, and took to the air above Petco Park, spinning almost endlessly while she sang and danced in the air. Seeing her perform this act is always amazing and jaw-dropping in person; the pure athleticism is unbelievable. As she waved to the cheap seats and soared through the venue, P!nk landed on several platforms positioned throughout the floor, using each chance to get close up to different areas of the crowd. Huge bursts of confetti and more fireworks closed out a wonderfully enjoyable show that was not only an incredible concert but also a great cause.  The Curebound Concert for Cures is a truly magical event for cancer patients, their families, and the entire San Diego community. Here’s hoping the event continues successfully for many years to come.
