In a jam-packed venue, Meatbodies took us on a trip from the garage to the cosmos
LA’s Meatbodies are a SoCal garage supergroup consisting of Chad Ubovich, Cory Hanson, Riley Youngdahl, and Erik Jimenez. If you follow the music scene and haven’t heard of Meatbodies, maybe mentioning the fact that these lads have other projects like Fuzz, together PANGEA and Wand would potentially be enough to peak your interest.
In an absolutely jam-packed show at Soda Bar, Meatbodies showcased all their strengths; jammy and psychedelic noodling, breakneck speed bass grooves, and tight yet groovy drum beats.
Meatbodies’ newest record entitled “333” came out just about a week ago on September 3rd. It showed a departure from previous material as the band swapped out their early 70’s heavy psych influence for a sleek and surprising take on the more modern sounds of psychedelia. This September, If any Pacific Northwestern friends will be in Seattle on the 19th or Bellingham on the 20th, then Meatbodies is definitely a must-see. Californians don’t be too sad as you can make your way to Albany (SF County) to catch them on the 25th.
