Sylvan Esso

It seemed like just yesterday that Durham, North Carolina’s very own Sylvan Esso (comprised of vocalist Amelia Randall Meath and multi-instrumentalist Nick Sanborn) were turning heads in the Indie world. Now with three albums and eight years of experience under their belts, Sylvan Esso will be bringing their signature glitchy and left-field pop sensibilities to the Soma stage.

The band will be supporting their 2020 effort Free Love which was a turning point for the band. The album is noticeably more mellow and atmospheric than their previous two efforts. The duo wanted the album to be less about them individually and more about their conjoined efforts and struggles as a musical partnership over the years. This definitely shows as Free Love is easily their most intimate release yet. You can see them perform tracks from this record along with others this September at Soma.
