Alabama Shake’s euphoric performance at the CalCoast Credit Union Open Air Theatre with Shannon and The Clams
Have you ever found any interest in country or RnB? If not, now is the perfect time to discover a new mixed genre! Alabama shakes was a blast to photograph. The lead vocalist strolled onto stage with a beautiful mint green Gibson guitar and a white ruffly dress. Her smile lit up the crowd as they applauded the band.
The band featured a vocal trio on stage right, a drummer, a keyboardist, a guitarist, a bassist, and of course, a stunning vocalist. This tour is extremely important, the band went on an indefinite hiatus in 2018 and this is their first reunion tour! You can imagine how ecstatic their fans were when they heard about this reunion.
Opening for the lovely Alabama shakes was “Shannon and the Clams”
The band came onto stage with beautiful daisy flower structures and chic clothing, almost as if we were in for some outstanding music and and a laid back glass of wine. (News flash, that statement was true.) The band had four members; Shannon, Cody, Will, and Ian. Each member had their own sense of style, the drummer, Ian, wearing a western style outfit, while will was wearing a striped button up with a bedazzled guitar strap. Much like Cody, the Guitarist, Shannon was wearing a dazzling guitar strap with her name on it. Shannon’s stunning outfit and makeup only matched with her voice, ethereal!
When Alabama Shakes finally took the stage—marked by the instantly recognizable, soulful presence of Brittany Howard—the venue erupted. This marked their triumphant return after an eight-year hiatus.
The setlist, of course had their hits everyone adores. “Hold on” and “Don’t Wanna Fight” were just a small fraction of their golden setlist.
