SWMRS

SWMRS and The Regrettes played a show presented by 91X Inspired By Music at Music Box.

SWMRS played to a raging all-ages crowd at Music Box, opened up by the highly-anticipated group, the Regrettes. The Regrettes shot to fame just before the release of their 2017 debut, Feel Your Feelings Fool!, an anthem-rich album. The album called out outdated standards of beauty and double-standard behavior on tracks like “Ladylike / WHATABITCH,” while tracks like “A Living Human Girl” embraced every part of being and becoming a woman with both grace and reckless abandon.

Their devil-may-care attitude doesn’t just stop with their lyrics, either. Frontwoman Lydia Night takes the audience on a trip through every wild emotion that encapsulates youth. No stranger to performing, Night is a natural performer on stage and shines. Genessa Gariano, Brooke Dickson, and Drew Thomsen round out the rest of the young foursome with equally-impressive talent. This was their last show for a while as they deal with vocal health, but keep your eyes for what’s to come from the young, LA-based group, as they’ve got only a brighter future ahead.

No strangers to sold-out crowds, SWMRS has toured for years off the success of their first album in 2016 with the likes of FIDLAR and The Frights the world-over. After nearly three years of waiting, fans were given the gift Berkeley’s On Fire and live performance to match. Co-frontmen Max and Cole Becker have the natural performance grace of the likes of Jesse Rutherford of The Neighbourhood or Tyler, the Creator. Wild and driven, the whole band comes alive on stage.
