Miguel warmed up a chilly night with a magnetic sexual energy that shook his ecstatic audience at Humphrey’s by the Bay on Tuesday, April 17th.

Before taking the stage, a 5 minute visual to “Now” welcomed the audience. As soon as this ended, celestial vocals filled the entire space. Miguel’s band took their places and after an almost minute-long intro, he ascended into a separate elevated stage above the main stage.

The soft electric sounds of “Criminal” hit the air and halfway through the first chorus Miguel had the crowd warmed up.

A few songs into his set, Miguel made his way down the ramp from the elevated stage, making the crowd go wild as he got low and two stepped with his band. It was evident the band savored every second on stage, and the audience could not help but love and reciprocate in the same manner.

After introducing himself and sharing his familial roots, saying “My dad is from Michoacan, Mexico and my mother is a beautiful black woman from Inglewood… and they sent me to rock your fucking world… ” Miguel rocked the audience’s world. Wooing the crowd with wild yet smooth, sensual, and free-spirited movements. Miguel shared songs from his recently released album War & Leisure including “Caramelo Duro,” a crowd favorite, and made sure to not to leave older songs out of his repertoire.

After a 5 minute instrumental break and the introduction of each musician in the band, he brought out Nonchalant Savant – his brother – to sing “Deal.”

Miguel ended the night heartily with “Pineapple Skies” before returning for a 15-minute encore concluding the night with “P***y is Mine” “Adorn” and “Skywalker
