Masego Brings the Fix Your Face Tour to SOMA

Masego brought the Fix Your Face Tour to SOMA San Diego on September 14, and this was easily one of my favorite shows I have seen there.

He absolutely killed it.

From the second Masego stepped onstage, he had the room completely locked in. His stage presence alone could have carried the night, but then you add the vocals, the band, and of course the saxophone, and the whole show became insanely fun.

The saxophone solos were easily some of my favorite moments.

Masego has this ability to completely take over a room when he starts playing. He moved around the stage effortlessly, switched between singing and playing, and somehow made the whole thing look incredibly easy.

What made the night especially fun was how aware he was of the crowd.

Throughout the show, Masego kept talking about how much he could feel the vibe coming from San Diego, and he was absolutely right. People were dancing, singing along, and giving him plenty to work with, which made his interactions with the audience feel natural rather than forced.

You could tell he was genuinely enjoying himself.

That connection made the show feel much more personal than you would expect from a packed SOMA. Whether he was behind the mic, moving across the stage, or taking over during a sax solo, he never really gave the crowd a reason to look anywhere else.

He was charismatic, funny, incredibly smooth, and clearly knew exactly how to work a room.

By the end of the set, it felt like Masego and San Diego had completely found each other.

He kept saying he could feel the city.

San Diego definitely felt him too.

Between the saxophone solos, his stage presence, and how naturally he connected with the crowd, this was just an insanely good show and an incredibly fun night.
