Super group Childbirth will start off your week on Monday, local bands AJ Froman and Hills Like Elephants will play on Thursday, and Ben Folds wraps up the week with the San Diego Symphony on Friday!

Monday, February 1 – Childbirth, Lisa Prank and Ditches – Soda Bar
Childbirth is made up of Julia Shapiro of Chastity Belt, Bree McKenna of Tacocat and Stacy Peck of Pony Time. Their songs are rooted in humor but also touch upon feminist topics. i-D described them as a mix of Bikini Kill and Broad City. More info.

Thursday, February 4 – AJ Froman, Future Age and Lucky Keith – The Pourhouse
You North County folks need to head to the Pourhouse in Oceanside for a great local band night. AJ Froman from San Diego plays proggy, psych rock. Come early to hear Lucky Keith’s mellow pop rock and 90s inspired guitar rock from Future Age! More info.

Thursday, February 4 – Hills Like Elephants, Bit Maps and Dani Bell & The Tarantist – Casbah
We love all these San Diego bands! Hills Like Elephants’ soulful indie rock and stage presence makes for super fun shows. Bit Maps is the electronic influenced project of Drew Andrews formerly of Album Leaf. Dani Bell has been making waves recently, playing shows all over town. Go see them! More info.

Friday, February 5 – Ben Folds & the San Diego Symphony – California Center for the Arts
Singer-songwriter Ben Folds teams up with the San Diego Symphony for a really special night. What’s better than hearing “Phone in a Pool” backed by a full orchestra? More info

Saturday, February 6 – Adolescents, The Widows, The Touchies – Casbah
So much punk rock tonight! The Adolescents are a punk band that formed in 1979 in Fullerton, California. They’ve been influential in the Socal punk scene. The Widows and the Touchies from San Diego will open. More info.
