Evanescence Sets North Island Credit Union Amphitheater Ablaze

Evanescence brought a massive, theatrical set to North Island Credit Union Amphitheatre on July 17, delivering the kind of dark, dramatic production their music calls for. From the moment the band took the stage, the show felt huge, with towering lighting, heavy guitars, and bursts of pyro surrounding Amy Lee as she commanded the center of it all.

Even with everything happening around her, Lee’s voice remained the main attraction. Her vocals cut effortlessly through the band’s massive sound, giving the songs the same haunting power that has defined Evanescence for more than two decades. The crowd was locked in from the beginning, but nothing compared to the reaction when the opening notes of “Bring Me to Life” rang out across the venue.

The amphitheatre erupted almost instantly. The group of girls standing next to me literally screamed and started crying the second they recognized the song, and they were far from alone. Thousands of voices rose at once, turning the entire venue into a massive singalong. It was one of those moments where you could actually feel how much a song still means to people more than twenty years after its release.

That reaction said everything about Evanescence’s staying power. While their music is deeply connected to the early 2000s, the performance never felt like a nostalgia act. Between the explosive pyro, huge production, and the band’s commanding stage presence, Evanescence looked completely at home on a stage of this size. More than two decades into their career, they proved their music still carries the same emotional weight, only now with a much bigger stage and a whole lot more fire.
