Mad Alchemy Light Show

Mad Alchemy Light Show with Mystery Lights

The Mad Alchemy light show finds its lineage traced back to the iconic rainbow hued liquid light projections birthed during the 1960’s Californian counterculture movement.

Spearheaded by artist Lance Gordon, who has performed alongside legacy acts such as Roky Erickson and Big Brother and the Holding Company, as well as well as modern psychedelic mainstays King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard, Temples, and The Brian Jonestown Massacre (among countless others), the light show is hitting the road this summer and coming to San Diego at the Til-Two Club this Summer!

Since 2008, Mad Alchemy has performed over 900 times in venues across the US, Europe and Mexico. Joined by some of the West Coast’s most exciting new groove and fuzz laced musical acts, Lance Gordon and crew will cover the bands in a living, rhythmic painting that draws both the audience and the performers into a synesthetic wonderland. Join us this summer to commemorate the 50 year anniversary of the Summer of Love with one of San Francisco’s original trip inducers!

Of course no light show would be complete with out the sonic accompaniment from these bands of trippers:

Stevenson Ranch Davidians: ‘60s psych, folk and soul, woven with strands of early American roots music, the group features lead singer/songwriter Dwayne Seagraves as well as guitarist/producer Rob Campanella of Spindrift and The Brian Jonestown Massacre on guitar.

Jesus Sons: With similar sounds to the urban mayhem of The Velvet Underground to the relaxed spacious skies groove of New Riders of the Purple Sage they bring a hell of a party to each show.

Dream Phases: Dream Phases recently released their debut EP, Maybe Tomorrow, on Lolipop Records in March. Inspired by the works of Syd Barrett, Neil Young and Elliott Smith (among others), Maybe Tomorrow was recorded and produced by Graham along with Jason Quever and Joel Jerome.

Creatures Choir: Formed in 2013 by Rory Blackwater and Brad Hemenover, Creatures Choir is the culmination of their influences through the kaleidoscopic eyes of a dirty desert drifter. Melding Middle Eastern and Latin rhythms with true rock n roll spirit, they set out to make their own message in the Psychedelia realm.
