We excited about this week! There’s a huge local band show at the Ché Café Saturday night plus a major ListenSD favorite playing Thursday—Kim and the Created. No concert overlap this time so you should find a great show for almost every day of the week.

Tuesday, December 8 – Ezra Furman – The Casbah
His new solo effort Perpetual Motion People was released this past July to positive reviews. It did so well its first week that peaked on UK charts! More info.

Wednesday, December 9 – Papa, The Gloomies – The Casbah
San Diego based the Gloomies are gaining traction playing with groups like Hinds, Public Access TV and now Papa. Also, did you see that their single premiered on Noisey? Featured alongside a photo by ListenSD’s own Summer Luu no less! More info.

Thursday, December 10 – Kim and the Created – Soda Bar
For an electric live show, Kim House of Kim and the Created is your go to gal. This band is a favorite of ListenSD as House has a huge voice and explosive onstage personality. Expect plenty of stage antics and shiny outfits. More info.

Friday, December 11 – Black Magic Party feat. Angels Dust, Glasmus & Big Bloom – The Hidebout
ListenSD brings you another Black Magic Party but this time we’re teaming up with our friends at Ray at Night. We LOVE these shows because they bring together the best bands from Los Angeles, Tijuana and San Diego. More info.

Saturday, December 12 – The Soaks, Vitto & the Trees, Fake Tides, Nimzo Indians – The Ché Café
It’s a locals only kind of night! All these San Diego based bands will please any fans of surf, garage or pop-punk. Also check out the cool zine library at the back of this historic DIY venue in between sets! More info.

Saturday, December 12 – Vinyl Junkies Record Swap: Holiday Edition – The Casbah
Looking for a gift for the vinyl junkie in your life? This is the event for you! Expect tons of cool records plus pizza and music. Oh and ListenSD’s very own Rachel Frank will be DJing from 4-5pm! More info.

Sunday, December 13 – 91X’s Wrex the Halls feat. Run the Jewels and Foals – SOMA
91X has outdone themselves this year! Run the Jewels and Foals will be joined by Pvris, The Wombats and Will and the People for the annual Wrex the Halls concert. More info.
