It’s a good week to get out and see some concerts! From rap to electronica to punk, there’s something for every kind of music lover. Here’s ListenSD’s top picks of MUST SEE shows for this week!

Monday, November 23 – Chance the Rapper – SOMA

It’s a sold out show but I’d scour Craigslist for some spare tickets if I were you.. This 22-year-old out of Chicago, Illinois is known for being a highly technical rapper as well as a profound lyricist. His full length Surf was released for free this year and has garnered positive reviews. More info.

Monday, November 23 – Le Ra – Soda Bar

If the Chance show isn’t in the cards for you, head over to Soda to support local music! Le Ra was formed in Tijuana/San Diego 5 years ago by Mónica Mendoza. This indie pop band cites influences from Brit-pop to jazz and sports two EPs under their belt. More info.

Wednesday, November 25 – Wand – Soda Bar

Wand is winding up the last leg of their tour in San Diego this Wednesday before returning home to Los Angeles. Their second album Golem will please fans of T Rex as well as Ty Segall. Unlike T Rex and Ty however, their lyrical content considers the fantastical instead of reality. More info.

Friday, November 27 – Robert Delong – Music Box

Glassnote Records darling Robert Delong makes music with electronica, EDM and alternative rock influences. His second album, In the Cards, dropped September of this year alongside a new single, “Don’t Wait Up.” This show is sure to be a full on dance party and a perfect way to end the work week. Saturday, Nobvember 28 – X – The Casbah

Not many of your favorite punk bands from the 70s still tour like X does! After a period of inactivity during the 90s, X is up and at ’em with lots of shows, It’s been a minute since they’ve released a studio album, but that doesn’t mean you can’t go to the Casbah Saturday night and boogie to old classics.
