Desert Daze is back October 12 – 14, 2018 in its new Southern California desert home.

THE VENUE

After spending the past few years at the Institute of Mentalphysics in Joshua Tree, the festival is trading trees for a lake, heading to the Moreno Beach Club of Lake Perris for the first time.

“In addition to three days of live music, mystical knowledge and a full ocular spa experience of visual stimulus, we have included a beach area for everyone to swim, relax, socialize or just watch the lights glimmering off the water for as long as you need to,” says the Desert Daze website. Attendees of years past know how hot, dry and dusty Daze can get, so including a place to cool off and splash around is a game-changer.

THE LINEUP

Desert Daze has revealed this year’s lineup in phased transmissions, adding more all-star bands as the weeks progress.

Currently at phase 2.25 transmission, headliners now include two Aussie bands Tame Impala and King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard, experimental hip hop band Death Grips, and the lovely ladies of Warpaint. The lineup rounds out with 30+ more of the best neo-, post-, current psych and garage rock bands on the planet. And if you can believe it, there’s even MORE to be announced in phase three.

THE EXPERIENCE

With three stages, there will be music playing at all hours. But if you need a break from dancing your heart out, have your mind blown at one of the many art installations, films, talks, projections or workshops.

You can also grab funky garb at a mystic bazaar, consume tasty food and drink offerings at three locations, and take in even more late-night programming, still to come.

And if all that’s not enough, what really makes Desert Daze so special, so unique, so beautiful and so fucking epic is the community of people; they’re kind, trippy, dressed like witches, aliens, hippies, goths and punks, and they come out, hugged by the glow of the desert sun and dust, with open minds and open hearts. Plus, SWIMMING!
