The last time the Brooklyn-based band Augustines came to San Diego they played to a sold out crowd and reduced audience members to sniffling and wiping away tears of joy and heartache throughout the band’s set. Their powerful and emotional performance is an obvious result of the band’s history – and now that story is being told in the upcoming documentary Rise by Big Vulture Productions. Big Vulture Productions has just launched a Kickstarter campaign to fund the movie. Backers of the project will receive several gifts based on their pledge, a digital download of the movie. behind the scenes clips, a limited edition DVD, your name in the film credits, Skype chats with the director and band members, flights and accommodations to the film’s premiere, an all-access pass to their London show at the legendary Roundhouse, and more. The band will begin a round of west coast shows in mid-September. Their first stop will be at The Troubador in Los Angeles on September 17.
